Meng KV-2 (WWP-004)
This is one of those builds where I just wanted to finish something. I have previously built the green version, which is kit number WWT-004. This is kit WWP-004 - presumably the P stands for pinky, as shown on the upper right corner of the box art.
It is intended to be assembled without glue, but I glued some of the joints anyway. I was going to paint it a kind of light aqua, similar to the original plastic color. I even made a Tamiya mix of Flat White, Clear Green and Clear Blue that matched quite closely. Then I realized that the box art and the instructions showed it in the same kind of green that actual Soviet tanks were painted in. I used an old bottle of Polly Scale British Interior Grey-Green. It sprayed very rough, perhaps because I sprayed it straight from the bottle, without thinning. The box art shows the spare tracks the same color as the exterior, but I tried to paint them the same yellow as the main tracks. It took several coats, and even then the gray primer shows through.
The decals went on very easily.
